As most of you will probably already have noticed, WikiMaas has been offline for the last couple of weeks. The reason is that someone (*hum* *hum* *trying really hard not to start public blaiming*) didn’t pay the bills to the hosting company. They already cleared up the server and hired it to someone else, and since our response took so long they also deleted all backups.
There is still a backup available on our old server at a different hosting company, but that one is from December 2006. All changes after that date are lost anyway. Since no-one wants to put effort in it anymore, this will probably mean the end of WikiMaas. Ah well, at least it was fun as long as it lasted.
And to relate to the previous article, dnScoop gives wikimaas.org a value of $1030. Damn, we should have sold it, before we decided to wreck it…
Discopilot, Destruktief, WikiMaas, all gone. Time to do something else. Any ideas?
Edit (20-03): The old version of December 2006 is back online now. Let’s see if the momentum can be recreated.
Edit 2 (21-03): I heard today that the new version of mahlmag, which is currently under development, might contain some wiki-ish functionality, allowing bars and galleries to add their own descriptions and parties. Still rumours…
